Singapore, 20th November 2024 – Today, Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) proudly accepted the 2025 APEX Best In Cabin Service and Food and Beverage Award in East Asia at the highly anticipated APEX Best in Airline Awards Ceremony, held during the FTE APEX Asia EXPO at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Based on over one million verified passenger votes through TripIt® from Concur®, this prestigious award celebrates RB’s unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional in-flight service and culinary experiences that leave a lasting impression on passengers.

The event, which drew leaders from across the global airline industry, saw RB’s CEO, Captain Sabirin Bin Haji Abd Hamid, take the stage to accept the award on behalf of the airline:

“It is a privilege to receive this award for Royal Brunei Airlines. Being recognised by our passengers for the very heart of what we do – providing exemplary service and outstanding food and beverage options – is a testament to the dedication of our cabin crew and all those who work tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver these experiences. This recognition is significant as we celebrate our 50th anniversary, reinforcing our commitment to excellence and the spirit of ‘Ikhlas,’ or sincerity, guiding every part of our service.”

Today’s accolade adds another significant milestone to Royal Brunei Airlines’ 50th-anniversary celebrations. Now, five decades later, this award serves as a reminder of the airline’s evolution from a small regional carrier to a world-class airline renowned for its sincerity in service that reflects the values of Brunei’s warm hospitality.

In 2024 itself, RB has achieved numerous milestones. These include the announcement of fleet renewal through the purchase of four Boeing 787-9 aircraft, the launch of services aimed at enhancing guests’ experience—such as RB SkyShop and RBSkySavour—and the introduction of new destinations like Chennai and Balikpapan. RB also hosted significant events, including the IATA Brunei Sustainable Aviation Fuel Capacity Building Session and the 68th Assembly of Presidents of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines. Additionally, the national carrier of Brunei was honoured with awards such as the Muslim Friendly Airline of the Year by the Halal E-Travel Awards and the APEX 4-Star Major Airline Rating for 2025.

As Royal Brunei Airlines celebrates this significant achievement, it remains focused on the future, aligning with Wawasan 2035, Brunei’s national vision for a dynamic and sustainable future. By constantly innovating, improving, and embracing sustainability practices, RB is committed to supporting the nation’s goals on a global stage.
