After retiring as a schoolteacher, Haji Samihon decided to build a fishing lodge to share the joy of fishing with his kampong neighbours. When a flood hit the kampong, destroying much property including the fishing lodge, all the residents banded together to help each other out. Rather than being a disaster, Haji Samihon sees the flood as an opportunity for him and his neighbours to show the kindness that lives in their hearts.

In 2015, Haji Samihon single-handedly built his fishing lodge.
The fishing lodge is situated along the peaceful Tutong River .
Gotong royong, or community spirit, originated in kampongs and lives on today.
With that in mind, Haji Samihon is happy to share the joy of fishing with the people around him
