Bridging Cultures, Connecting Capitals: Royal Brunei Airlines to Resume Flights to Beijing Daxing from 28 April 2025

14 February 2025, 3:47 PM

Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) is excited to announce the resumption of its services to Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) starting 28 April 2025. The resumptions of air services will re-establish a vital connection between Brunei and the capital of China after a temporary suspension in October 2024.

As part of RB’s 2025 Northern Summer Schedule, the Beijing Daxing route will operate twice weekly. RB will utilise the modern and fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo, providing passengers with a more comfortable and environmentally friendly flying experience.

Flight Schedule (Local Times, Subject to Regulatory Approvals)

Flight No. From – To Days Departure Arrival Aircraft
BI623 Brunei to Beijing Monday, Thursday 02:00 07:25 A320 Neo
BI624 Beijing to Brunei Tuesday, Friday 00:30 06:00 A320 Neo

Commenting on the reinstatement of the route, RB Chief Executive Officer Captain Sabirin Haji Abdul Hamid stated:

“We are delighted to resume our services to Beijing Daxing, reaffirming our commitment to strengthening the deep-rooted ties between Brunei and the People’s Republic of China. The temporary suspension of this route in October 2024 was a challenging yet necessary decision due to market conditions. However, after careful evaluation, we are confident that the time is right to reconnect our capitals and provide our guests seamless travel options.

This resumption is especially timely after the official visit of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar’ Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi
Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, to China in February 2025, where His Majesty announced a visa waiver for Chinese tourists visiting Brunei. This historic initiative will further boost inbound tourism, encourage cultural exchanges, and promote Brunei as a must-visit destination for Chinese travellers.

Additionally, the implementation of China’s visa-free entry policy for Brunei citizens from 30 November 2024 allows Bruneians to travel to China for business, tourism, family visits, transit,
and exchanges for up to 30 days without a visa. We expect this to significantly increase demand for travel between our two nations, making Beijing Daxing a key gateway for our passengers. With these reciprocal visa policies, Royal Brunei Airlines proudly provides a direct, convenient, and world-class travel experience connecting our two nations.”

RB first launched services to Beijing Daxing International Airport in October 2019, marking a significant milestone in its expansion into China. The decision to resume flights in April 2025
aligns with Brunei’s broader tourism and trade objectives under Wawasan 2035, supporting the increasing demand for business, education, and leisure travel between the two nations.
RB’s flights will enhance connectivity for corporate travellers, students, and tourists, further strengthening economic ties between the countries. To ensure the success of this route, the
airline will continue to collaborate closely with key stakeholders in Brunei and China, including tourism boards, government agencies, and travel partners.

Travellers flying with Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) from Beijing can enjoy seamless connections through Brunei to a range of exciting destinations, including Bangkok, Balikpapan, Kuching, Kuala
