Royal Brunei Airlines Introduces Direct Charter Flights to South Korea

Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) has signed an agreement with FOB Sdn Bhd for direct charter flights connecting Brunei with South Korea.
The agreement was signed on 27th October 2016 by Mr Karam Chand RB Chief Executive Officer; and Park Sung Ho, Chief Executive Officer of FOB Sdn Bhd. Witnessing the signing on behalf of RB was Ms Christina Chua, RB’s Head of Loyalty, Freight and Ancillary; and on behalf of FOB Sdn Bhd was Ms Choi Hee Jeong, Director of IMK Holdings.
Under the agreement, RB will be operating its A320CEO aircraft twice weekly from Bandar Seri Begawan to Incheon, South Korea (and vice versa) commencing on 29th December 2016 until 28th December 2017.
“The introduction of this direct charter flights signifies RB’s commitment in developing its route network, diversifying its revenue base and providing a solid platform for Brunei’s tourism development and growth” said Karam Chand, CEO of Royal Brunei Airlines.
“South Korea is Brunei’s second largest trading partner and we definitely look forward to see this relationship enhanced especially on the tourism sector” said Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Brunei’s Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism.
Aside from developing tourist traffic between Brunei and South Korea, this charter also aims to develop business opportunities for both nations. FOB Sdn Bhd is also working with Empire Hotel and Country Club in introducing Empire to the Korean market as the main accommodation for honeymooners and golfers, as well as introducing Korean products to the Bruneian market via shops that will set up at the hotel.
