What is Seat Selection in miles?

Members can now use their miles to pay for advanced seat selection. Members can do this through Manage Booking after they have purchased their tickets.

How can I redeem advanced seat selection using Royal Skies miles?

Log into your Royal Skies account and Manage Booking to redeem. Remember to select “Use Miles” as the payment option.

Why can’t I see the option to use miles?

Can I redeem seat selection for someone else?

Yes, you may redeem advanced seat selection for your nominated family members or nominees. Manage your list now in the “Relationship” section once logged in.

Which seats are eligible for miles redemption?

Royal Skies miles can be used for all eligible advanced seat selection, including:

  • Standard seat
  • Preferred seat
  • Extra Leg seats (However, for purchase of emergency exit rows, guests are subjected to strict flight safety guidelines of the Department of Civil Aviation Brunei .)

Seats are sold at a first-come-first-serve basis to guests who have purchased an air ticket on the flight. Please check seat availability during the booking process for details.

Can I use miles for someone else's seat?

Yes, you can use your miles to purchase advanced seats for someone else, provided they are listed as one of your nominees in your account.

Can I get a refund if I cancel my flight or change my seat?

If you have cancelled your flight booking, miles redeemed for advanced seat(s) will be refunded. Please note that cancellations fees apply. Expired miles will not be refunded.

If you made dates changes to your booking, the miles redeemed for advanced seat is non-refundable and forfeited.

The Royal Skies miles I used to redeem for advance seat selection has expired. Will the miles be refunded?

No, expired Royal Skies miles will not be refunded.

Can I change my seat after I’ve selected one?

  • All advanced seat selections are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another seat or flight.
  • If you change your seat, the miles redeemed for the previous selection will not be refunded.
  • The new seat will require a separate redemption using additional miles.

However, you can change your seat to Standard seat for free when online check-in opens 48 hours prior to scheduled departure

I am a Gold member, will this affect my benefit?

As a valued Gold member, your benefit of complimentary advanced seat selection remains unaffected. You can continue to select seats for you and one travel companion. Additionally, you have the option to redeem miles for seat selection for your family members or nominated nominees.

I am a Silver member, will this affect my benefit?

As a valued Silver member, you can still enjoy complimentary preferred seats at check-in, subject to availability. Additionally, you may redeem miles for seat selection for your family members or nominated nominees.

If my Royal Skies status has changed and I'm now eligible to select Standard and/or Preferred seats for free, will I receive refunds for the seats I've redeemed from flights I haven't yet flown?

No, all seat selections redeemed in advance are non-refundable and non-transferable.
