Which company offers the Travel Insurance?

The Travel Insurance is underwritten by Tokio Marine Insurance Singapore Ltd (Brunei branch), with services provided by Chubb Insurance Singapore Limited (Chubb Insurance).

In which way is insurance provided?

You can enrol for the policy online, at www.flyroyalbrunei.com, for tickets departing from Brunei. Upon successful enrolment, you will receive a confirmation email from Chubb Insurance.

What benefits are provided to me when I buy the Travel Insurance?

The policy offers cover for COVID-19, Personal Accident, Medical, Travel Inconveniences and Emergency Assistance.

Can I enrol for Travel Insurance if I am not departing from Brunei?

No, the policy is only applicable for tickets departing from Brunei.

What is the age eligibility if I wish to enrol for Travel Insurance?

The policy provides cover for travellers from 8 days old.

Can I enrol for Travel Insurance if I'm travelling for more than 180 days?

No, the policy only provides cover for round trip journeys, up to 180 days.

I have amended my flight details. Who do I contact to amend my Travel Insurance details?

Where can I find information about the terms and conditions of the Travel Insurance?

When is the effective commencement date of my Travel Insurance?

The policy coverage will commence on the start date as indicated on the Certificate of Insurance (COI). For Travel Cancellation Benefit, the coverage is effective upon the issuance of the COI, or within 30 days prior to the scheduled departure date, whichever is later.

When will my Travel Insurance terminate?

The policy coverage will terminate
- (One-way Journey) Upon the arrival at the destination's airport, or upon the expiry of the Period of Insurance, whichever is earlier; or
- (Return Journey) Upon your arrival back in Brunei, after clearing the immigration, or upon the expiry of the Period of Insurance, whichever is earlier.

For Journey Cancellation Benefit, the coverage will expire on the scheduled departure date.

Does Travel Insurance cover extreme sports and similar activities?

The policy does not provide coverage for extreme sports, competitive, or professional sports.

However, usual tourist activities that are accessible to the general public without restriction (other than height or general health or fitness warnings), are included in the policy's coverage.

What should I do if I do not receive any policy confirmation email?

I have enrolled for insurance on the website but my trip is cancelled. Can I get a refund of the premium?

Please contact Chubb Insurance before the departure date of the journey to request for cancellation of your insurance coverage. You may contact Chubb Insurance via email at [email protected] or call +65 6398 8776 (Mondays to Fridays, 9.00am - 5.00pm excluding Singapore Public Holidays).

I have completed only part of the journey, can I get a refund on my insurance premium?

If the journey has commenced, refund of policy premium is not applicable.

What should I do in the event I require overseas emergency assistance?

For overseas emergency assistance, please contact the 24-hour Chubb Assistance hotline at +60379520047.

Does the policy provide cover for overseas medical expenses?

Yes, you may submit your overseas medical expenses claim online at www.chubbclaims.com.sg.

If you are required to be hospitalised overseas, you may contact the 24-hour Chubb Assistance hotline at +60379520047 for immediate assistance. Where necessary, a Letter of Guarantee (LOG) from Chubb may be issued to reduce the amount of upfront cash deposit to the hospital.

Can I submit a claim for baggage delay?

Yes, if you experienced minimum 6 consecutive hours of baggage delay, you may submit a claim online at www.chubbclaims.com.sg.

For claim submission, please provide written confirmation from the airline specifying the reason and the number of hours of baggage delay, and the acknowledgement receipt that you received your baggage.

How do I make a claim?

You can submit your claim online at www.chubbclaims.com.sg within 30 days after the end of the trip.

Who can enrol for travel insurance?

You must be at least 18 years old to enrol for the policy and the policy must be enrolled before the commencement of your journey. A child must be at least 8 days old at the time this insurance is enrolled for him/her.

I had purchased my flight ticket through a travel agent. Can I still enrol for Travel Insurance?

Yes, you may enrol for the policy via 'Manage Booking'.

How is the premium for Travel Insurance calculated?

The premium is auto-calculated based on the details of your trip (e.g. destination, trip type (one-way or return), travel duration etc.) and time of enrolment.
